Train and become a volunteer

Every year over 90,000 babies are admitted to neonatal care in the UK.
They have either been born prematurely, or full term but are sick

Noah͛s Star officially launched in October 2017 and since over 50 volunteers have been recruited who have provided over 900 hours of support to the Neonatal Unit at Birmingham Women͛s Hospital.

All our volunteers are appropriate screened and trained (including Enhanced DBS, full employment history explored with two references obtained, 2 day compulsory training workshop, monthly reviews and optional webinars).

Our volunteers support in a variety of tasks including:

• Supporting siblings within a creche/play environment
• Peer support to parents
• Issuing beads of courage to parents
• Holding and comforting premature and/or sick babies
