Noah’s Star offers one of the very first organised sibling support services ever to have been set up in the UK. A much-needed service backed up by medical research & evidence, but most importantly, by the feedback we receive time and time again from the families we have supported

Noah’s Star has made such a difference both for our parents and families and our staff. The Neonatal Unit can be a daunting place for young children, and having dedicated volunteers to support siblings is fantastic. It is a key component of our Family Integrated Care project and helps facilitate our parents becoming true partners in their baby’s care, safe in the knowledge that their children are in good hands. “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Jo-Anne and Noah’s Star and look forward to the service growing as more volunteers come on board.

Noah’s Star is an exceptional organisation. Support for siblings makes a significant emotional and psychological difference to the sense of safety and emotional well-being of children who are scared and confused regarding their sibling’s poor health or prematurity. Unfortunately, NHS services can do very little to support siblings and therefore Noah’s stars work is invaluable.

The commitment and energy of the Noahs Star trustees and volunteers stems from their own personal and lived experience and the emotional and physical demands of supporting premature babies and their sibling/s.

Their combined experience has left them wanting to reduce the distress felt by siblings and improve the health and wellbeing of premature babies.
